Ted Holtz

I am a Software Developer and Entrepreneur.

I began meditating in 1987 while at University.  School can be stressful, and somehow I discovered that concentration reduces that stress.  I also found it interesting just to explore how my mind works.

As life went on, I continued meditating.  Through marriage, starting a business, having a child, and whatever else life brought.  My practice was inconsistent, but useful.

By 2004, life was getting to be more than I could handle.  My self-spun technique wasn't up to the task.  I decided to get some help.  I began studying and practicing Buddhist meditation in earnest.  Tried-and-true techniques are just so much more effective.  As my life improved, I became more and more determined to help others do the same.

I've spent about 2,000 hours over 6 years practicing formally (on retreat with a genuine teacher).  I've done Vipassana in Thai monasteries, and Zen in Japanese ones, and dabbled in some others.

I'm most confident helping others apply meditation to marriage or other relationship problems.
